Les Emmy Awards 2025 ont débuté ce week-end. En attendant la grande cérémonie, dimanche prochain, une centaine de prix ont été remis en avance. Dont 4 pour les Français derrière Arcane.
Il avait longtemps été snobé par les Emmys, à l’époque de Malcolm (trois nominations entre 2002 et 2005, aucune victoire). Mais Bryan Cranston s’est largement rattrapé depuis.
À 69 ans, l’acteur vient de décrocher son 7e Emmy Award, pour son rôle de patron hollywoodien délirant dans The Studio, où il donne la réplique à Seth Rogen. Il s’agit de son 5e trophée personnel – après les quatre couronnements en Meilleur acteur pour Breaking Bad. Le comédien n’est désormais plus très loin du record absolu détenu par Ed Asner, qui a remporté 7 Emmy Awards d’interprétation entre les années 1970 et 1980 (grâce à The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Racines et Lou Grant).
En attendant d’égaler la légende, Cranston a savouré sa victoire ce week-end lors des Creative Arts Emmys, organisés au Peacock Theater de Los Angeles. Car samedi et dimanche soir se tenait la pré-soirée des Emmy Awards, en attendant la grande cérémonie qui aura lieu le samedi 13 septembre. Ces Creative Arts Emmys permettent essentiellement de décerner les prix techniques ou pour les apparitions secondaires. Ainsi, une centaine (!) de trophées ont été distribués ce week-end.
Et cocorico : la série d’animation française Arcane a de nouveau brillé à Hollywood. Déjà couronnée en 2022, la production Fortiche s’est imposée dans la catégorie Meilleure série d'animation devant Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons et Love, Death + Robots. Elle a remporté 4 prix en tout.
Mais le grand vainqueur de la soirée est donc The Studio, qui s'offre déjà 9 Emmy Awards et devance Le Pingouin (8) ou Severance (6). Les deux séries chouchoutes de l'année, à savoir The Pitt et Adolescence, ont gagné 2 Emmys.
Parmi les personnalités récompensées, on peut citer - en plus de Cranston - les victoires de Julianne Nicholson (pour Hacks), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt), Merritt Wever (Severance) ou encore Julie Andrews (Bridgerton), ainsi que l'ancien Président Barrack Obama qui repart le prix du Meilleur narrateur. C'est son troisième Emmy Award à poser sur la cheminée aux côtés de son Prix Nobel de la Paix...
